Senior Application Support Specialist (Linux,SQL and Oracle)

Summary:

Would you like to be part of DHL IT Services? Our Service Support team is looking for a new team member. You will deliver Application support and deployment services for part of a given business area to DHL countries/ functions, in order to ensure the maximum availability of these services to the business and the smooth deployment of new or improved services with minimal disruption to business continuity.

What you will do:

•Act as ‘Service owner’ for a set of applications/services (as delegated by the Team Leader or Technician Lead), monitoring and reporting on service levels attained for these applications/services, and ensuring their continuity of service at all times
•Receive and log requests for support from help desk, other service delivery staff and/or users
•Prioritize requests in accordance with agreed criteria and the needs of the organization in accordance with Service Level Agreements
•Plan, execute and support implementations so the applications themselves are deployed with minimal disruption to the production environment

You should have:

•Hands-on experience with Linux operating system
•Experience with SQL and Customer focus
•Previous experience in supporting applications
•Ability to use English in daily communication
•Good time-management, organizational, multi-task and prioritization skills

Technical skills:

Redhat
- understanding of design or permissions, disk, folders
- self-sufficient to work with files/folders/text editor
- basics understanding of cut, awk, grep, tail, crontab, curl, ps, top, sudo etc
- bash scripting – read and understand

Tomcat
- experienced user, understanding of design
- troubleshooting skills

DB Oracle
- SQL basics - ability to read,understand, modify - sel, joins, views, procs, functions,
- understanding of ORA design (uri, sid, tablespace, awr, rac)

General knowledge
- json, rest api, xml, soap, chrome dev console, OpenShift, React, NodeJS, analytical thinking
