Principal Application Specialist – iSeries


About the role:

Principal Application Support Specialist participates on Global standards and strategy decision. He / she communicates to the Global business leads, IT application support colleagues, other IT internal supporting teams and vendor.
He / she provides consultation, guidance and problem solving expertise with respect to complex technical issues of infrastructure, design, methods, tools etc. to ensure that a robust, maintainable, high quality, standards-compliant business applications software environment is developed and maintained with any weak links removed. The position also leads and supports internal improvement initiatives and programs.
Ensures that all agreed targets, SLA's and Metrics are met.

Your work:

• Relationship management, communication, negotiation, facilitation, presentation
• Global business leads - cooperation, manage expectations, coming with solution proposal
• IT Application solution support team – coordination, standard definition, set strategy, inspire, …
• Identifies opportunities for improvement
• Maintains quality standards and policies
• Provides advice and guidance to less experienced colleagues
• Liaises with staff responsible for the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfill user requirements
• Supports delivery of build projects through its lifecycle – using the Global team resources
• Maintains an awareness of current developments in technical specialism(s)

You should have:

• Similar position experience - 5 years
• Advance communication, negotiation, facilitation, presentation skills
• Accounting & financial advance knowledge
• Knowledge of iSeries (AS/400) troubleshooting
• Experience with application support
• Advanced English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• Any experience with Infor System 21
• Previous exposure to corporate environment
