Senior System Support Specialist


Would you like work in a global multicultural organization? Middleware Infrastructure Services team is looking for an experienced System Support Specialist who is specialized in Middleware.
You will be responsible for the 2nd level support of all Middleware technologies (Weblogic Application Server, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Tomcat, IIS, SFTP, Jboss, Apache) virtualization platform and infrastructure operations that underpin the delivery of business solutions.

Your work:

• Provide 2nd level for incident and problem management support for Infrastructure Components and Services
• Work with vendors (IBM, Microsoft, Oracle) gathering best practices, infrastructure improvements and resolution of issues
• Drive continuous infrastructure optimization/automation from the technical side
• Provide proactive and reactive support for Production services, supporting production and non-production systems running in ITS within the specified area of responsibility
• Supporting business critical applications running within the area of responsibility of Production Services in ITS globally
• Documenting best practices and adhering to formal standards and processes as currently laid down
• Assessing, developing and implementing the infrastructure and server builds
• Gathering, assessing, and communicating critical information on a timely basis, by interacting with a broad set of teams
• Obtaining timely information from a variety of stakeholders
• Maintaining and helping further development of appropriate cost models to reflect changes in technology and provide key input to the overall Charging Model
• Assist with execution of Release to Production activities, acting as Internal Quality Gate
• Manages internal projects focused on hardware infrastructure and process improvement with related activities such as project planning, resource planning and reporting
• Participate in a recovery manager role, including weekends

You should have:

• Middleware Technologies (WebLogic, WebSphere MQ, WebSphere App Server)(Proficient)
• Web technology – Apache, IIS, Tomcat, Jboss (Proficient)
• File transfer solutions – FTPS and SFTP (Proficient)
• Operating Systems (HP-UX, LINUX, Windows) (Proficient)
• Scripting – Powershell, Unix Shell scripting (Proficient)

Nice to have:

• Monitoring tool – Tivoli/SCAPM
• Ticketing Tool – GlobalServiceNow

Behavioral skills:

• Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural environment where consensus is paramount
• Strongly demonstrated leadership within team, in service and customer orientation with excellent customer relationship skills
